You’ve reached my Joggo review, which details everything you need to know about this up-and-coming weight loss app.

As you may have realized throughout your own journey, many factors influence your weight loss success.

It’s not just about taking in fewer calories than you burn. Yes, that’s a huge part of it, but other factors can affect your results. Whether it’s stress, food temptations, lack of sleep, obligations, and time/ability to exercise, among other things.

I’ve been a holistic health practitioner for a while now, and many of these factors come up a lot when dealing with weight loss clients. That’s why they have to be addressed appropriately.

Now, I was curious to see if the Joggo app could actually act just as well (or even better?) than in-person consultations, training, and so forth.

So, if you want to know if the Joggo app is effective for weight loss, continue reading this full Joggo review. I’ll go over the ins and outs of the app, how it works, pricing, real Joggo reviews, and more.

About Joggo

Joggo is made up of elite coaches who work with you through their personalized training app.

The company was founded by Chris Zibutis, a former ironman and now the head running coach at Joggo.

The company is designed to give users an easy, accessible way to lose weight through running and coaching.

What is Joggo?

Joggo reviews

The Joggo app is a personalized program focused on running to help you lose weight.

In the app, you work with elite coaches and trainers who give you an individualized workout and diet plan based on your needs and preferences.

The app also consists of many educational and motivational features to increase your knowledge and improve your consistency and dedication.

Overall, the Joggo app is designed to create the perfect personalized experience for runners who want to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

Is the Joggo app legit?

Can Joggo really be as effective as in-person training or consulting?

It seems to be legit based on the number of positive Joggo reviews that are out there. It is quickly growing in popularity and this is likely due to the quality of the program and the results users are seeing.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Joggo Subscription

Here are some things to consider before buying a Joggo subscription and to understand who may benefit from it.

Experience Level

Joggo review

Joggo can be used by people of any experience level, whether you’ve never run before or have been doing 5ks for years.

But it seems geared more towards people who need a little assistance, so you likely won’t need this app if you’re already an experienced and successful runner.

Pricing

Joggo has a few different pricing plans. They offer two-, four-, and six-month plans. All of these options cost less than four dollars per week, so it seems quite affordable for most people.

Goals

Another seemingly favorable thing about Joggo is that it can be used by people with different goals.

Based on the questionnaire I went through, Joggo can be used by people who want to just stay in shape, become advanced runners, simply lose weight, or improve their running times.

So, it is available for a wide variety of people.

Interest

This might seem like a no-brainer, but you have to actually be motivated to run or at least make the decision that your main choice of exercise is running.

Many forms of exercise can help in the weight loss process. But if you’re more interested in weightlifting, swimming, sports, or some other form of exercise for weight loss, this won’t be the app for you.

It really is for people with an interest primarily in running and how to use running to help lose weight.

Does Joggo really work?

A Joggo running plan can work for you, but only if you stick with it.

Not everyone will experience the same results. It depends on how consistent and dedicated you are, among other factors.

But the Joggo app has a few really important features that can help you stay on track and lose weight, such as individualized training and meal plans, as well as motivational and educational tools.

How does Joggo work?

Joggo running plan

In this part of this Joggo review, I’m going to go over the specific details of how this app works and the process involved.

It all starts with their personalized questionnaire, which only takes a minute or two to complete.

Once you begin the questionnaire, you are asked questions, including:

  • Your gender
  • Running experience
  • Main goals
  • Running ability
  • Where you like to run
  • Days and times you want to train
  • Health concerns
  • Mental state
  • Dietary preferences
  • Restrictions
  • Goal weight

As you can see, it is a pretty detailed quiz, which in turn leads to highly personalized recommendations for your training and eating plans.

Once you get access to these plans, you have all the information you need to start on your weight loss journey.

Other Aspects

Another key part of the app is educational and motivational tools.

For example, throughout your experience with Joggo, they give you educational articles on nutrition, injury prevention, breathing techniques, and more. This is all to optimize your experience and lead to better results.

Plus, it comes with a progress tracker to keep you motivated and on track with your goals.

Remember, you’re working with a qualified coach all along the way to keep you accountable and to answer any questions you may have.

Joggo Features

The Joggo app also has many different features that may make your weight loss experience more enjoyable and manageable.

Beginner-Friendly Running Plan

If you’re just starting, you may be a little intimidated by the thought of running. You may have concerns about getting injured, overdoing it, how long to run, or anything else.

But Joggo offers a beginner-friendly running plan that is designed to be a nice balance between challenging your current fitness level and making sure that you don’t overdo it.

In this plan, they offer stretching, warm-up, and cool-down routines to ensure that you decrease the risk of injury and don’t overtrain.

Plus, the plans they give you get progressively harder, but only at a manageable pace. You can make improvements without getting too overwhelmed.

Personalized Guidance

Joggo features

Many people in a weight loss program get information overload. Alternatively, they may not have enough information to know what to do.

While common, both of these situations may lead to declined motivation or increased stress, which hinders progress.

But the Joggo app is designed to take all the guesswork out and give you all the information you need without going overboard.

They have elite coaches and trainers that work with you in the app to give you personalized guidance and recommendations, whether that’s for your running plan, diet, or anything else.

They also guide you through some often overlooked factors, such as breathing techniques, proper running form, and aspects of recovery.

The Joggo app also has listen-as-you-run audio guidance to take you through the entire process.

Injury Prevention and Recovery Programs

No matter how dedicated or motivated you are, a big barrier to exercise adherence is injuries.

After all, you can’t run if you have a sprained ankle or intense knee pain.

In the Joggo program, they give you access to key stretches, warm-up and cool-down routines, running form, and other factors that may decrease the risk of injury and help you perform and recover better.

Nutrition Tips and Meal Plans

Joggo app tips

It doesn’t matter how much you run if you’re still eating too much of the wrong things. Diet is a critical aspect of weight loss, even more than exercise.

But it can be hard to maintain a strict diet, especially if you don’t know how to do that. Not to mention factors such as stress, food temptations, and lack of time can make it harder to stick to a healthy eating plan.

However, the Joggo app comes with the option of getting nutrition tips and personalized meal plans to complement your training program.

You get access to a specific healthy diet for your needs and goals, based largely around lean protein, healthy carbs and fats, and plenty of fresh produce.

Additionally, they give you tips on how to reduce sugar and unhealthy fat intake, as well as principles of healthy eating.

Progress Trackers

Another barrier to achieving your weight loss or health goals is not tracking progress. Without setting goals and checking in to see if you’ve reached them, you may be more likely to just stay in the same spot.

After all, there is evidence that people who set specific targets are more likely to lose weight than those who don’t.

The Joggo app includes progress trackers for both weight loss and running, so you can see if you’re actually taking the right steps.

With Joggo, you get a step-by-step program to gain a clear picture of what you want to accomplish, both in terms of your weight loss goals and running goals (e.g. distance, speed, frequency).

The progress tracker helps you see the big picture, including how far you’ve come and how much is left to accomplish.

Joggo also enables GPS tracking, speed monitoring, and activity history to give you further insight into your performance.

In the Apple App Store, Joggo also has a 3.3 out of 5 rating based on 687 ratings.

Not bad, but a little less than I might’ve expected.

Sometimes, app store reviews are left soon after the app releases before improvements are made. So, I also went to Trustpilot.com to look up even more Joggo reviews.

On Trustpilot, Joggo is rated as 4.3 out of 5 (or excellent), based on 293 reviews.

In general, here are some positive things people were saying in their Joggo reviews:

  • Customers found the exercise and nutrition tips valuable
  • Simple user interface
  • Helpful for tracking progress
  • Some felt that they had their own personalized coach with them
  • Relevant and useful educational articles
  • The app is easy to navigate

However, there were a fair amount of issues and concerns people noted in their Joggo reviews, such as:

  • Hard to cancel subscription for some people
  • Concerns with poor customer service

Also, if you’re looking for specific examples from real customers, check out these Joggo app reviews:

I like this app to keep me on track. The walk run training is just right for me. I haven’t run in 20 years and Joggo has helped me start again. The tips and exercises are good too! Overall very good” -Connie S.

“Joggo run app is the best running app that I have ever used. It really helps me track my running goals when I am doing my usual morning jogs. It is really helpful. It has a lot of amazing features which are really unique. The user interface is also really user friendly. I really loved the app and I highly recommend it.” -Mayar E.

“A neat app, with a well thought-out and easy-to-use interface. A great source of knowledge; I particularly enjoyed some of the recipes under the ‘nutrition’ section! With the ability to customize a running plan too, it helps you form a structure to stick to a consistent running pattern; something that I’ve always struggled with!” -James S.

“I enjoyed the app because listening to the audio feels like I have my own personal instructor. The app has audio and video warm up exercises before your run and cool down exercises afterwards. During your run, you also have an option to opt out of the audio. There are also articles on healthy foods and workouts.”- Alan A.

“I love this app. My problem with exercise is getting started. With Joggo, problem solved! It’s like having your own coach, any time, day or night. I love the way it keeps up with the reps that you do with you. I feel like I can finally afford my very own personal trainer. Amazing app!!”- Melanie D.

“This app is so glitchy. Two weeks and it can not decide whether to track my runs or not. I have at least three runs where it looked like it was and then it was saved with no data. Did a run on a treadmill and it claimed to track and tracked me faster while not moving.” -Randee S.

“It will auto-renew. You will not be notified. There is no easy way to stop it before then. When you complain, they will tell you that you consented.” -Jamie Lynn P.

“Unable to go hands free when running. I love apps that provide prompts for change between running & walking, but I have to hold my phone & keep the screen on to hear the prompts. I like to run with my phone in my capris side pockets.” -Mary S.

Joggo Pricing Plans

Joggo offers two-, four-, and six-month pricing plans on their website, which are at discounted prices right now.

The listed prices on their website are:

  • Two Months: $33
  • Four Months: $46
  • Six Months: $66

These prices are more expensive compared to the prices I saw on the App Store. On this site, I saw that they offered those same prices but for three-, six-, and twelve-month plans, respectively.

However, I believe you have to pay for additional features, whereas you get the complete program straightaway if you buy it from the Joggo website.

Honestly, it’s pretty confusing to determine the exact pricing. I wish they made it clear what you have to pay. This is also what some users noted in their Joggo running app reviews.
