Things To Consider Before Buying WalkingPad R2 

Before you invest in a WalkingPad R2, here’s my advice. 

Your fitness goals

If gaining muscle is your fitness goal, a treadmill by itself won’t be enough! You can burn body fat if you need to, but to gain muscle, you need weight training. 

For best results, combine 20-30 minutes of walking and jogging four times a week with four to six weekly sessions of weight or bodyweight training.

Speed 

If you are a huge fan of high-intensity sprints, this treadmill won’t do the work for you. Its maximum speed is 12 km/h, suiting LISS (Low Intensity Steady State Cardio) running, jogging and walking. 

This is the perfect speed for fat burn, weight loss, and improving aerobic fitness (lung capacity – Vo2Max).

Safety features 

This product includes a child lock feature, making it suitable for families with children. Additionally, it caters to individuals over 50 years who prefer a more relaxed pace and knee-friendly landing.

Equipped with a safety clip, it gives confidence for anyone between the ages of 16 and 60 as well as those recovering from injuries.

WalkingPad R2 also features a cleverly-designed front handle for that extra balance.

User weight

This treadmill has a weight limit of 240 lbs (110 kg). If you currently weigh more, I recommend starting with walking outside. Once you meet the weight limit, you are ready for unlimited workouts with the R2.

Shock absorption 

The built-in shock absorption for a smoother and more comfortable landing is important for those with knee or ankle pain. Shock absorption helps protect the user from inflammation, joint overuse, and even stress fractures. 

Therefore, I recommend it for the 50+ population. As we age, we lose bone density, which may lead to injuries or osteoarthritis.

Running is a great way to reduce risks of osteoarthritis. Doing it on a treadmill like the WalkingPad R2 is even better and safer.

Space

WalkingPad R2 is foldable, but where will you store it?

Its unfolded size is 57″x 28″x 40.5″, and it will also need to be close to an electrical outlet. The folded size, 39″x 28″x 6″, might not fit under a sofa. 

While it’s very space-friendly, planning ahead is always a good idea. Check the measurements against the space where you’d want to use the R2 first.

Warranty

You need a fair and legit refund process and extended warranty before spending those dollars. This can be a lifesaver if something doesn’t go according to plan. 

WalkingPad customers are covered by a one-year warranty. They also provide complimentary returns and repairs within 30 days from the delivery date.

Speed control and convenience

You need a treadmill that is easy and safe to control while running. Or at least, have the option to control it safely.

WalkingPad R2 has access to App control, foot speed control, and remote control. So, there are multiple ways to ensure you’re staying at the appropriate speed for your needs.

Progress tracking

Let’s be real, not everyone is a huge fan of running! It’s easy to lose track and motivation, especially when training at home. 

Therefore, I suggest getting a treadmill that can be connected to an app to track your workout, uploading your results and data. This can help you stay motivated on your running journey. 

WalkingPad R2 offers a downloadable app KS Fit app where you can upload your workouts. The handle also comes with a dedicated slot for your phone and tablet, so say hello to entertainment central while you are burning fat!

Does WalkingPad R2 really work?

I believe any equipment can work if you stick with it. Most of the time, the issue is that we give up too early when we don’t get immediate results.

From a performance perspective, the WalkingPad R2 has all features to help you reach your fitness goals. Plus, it is accessible anytime in your house.

The brushless engine is powerful with 1.25 horsepower. You can run 12 km/h on it, which is suitable for most people as long-duration cardio for weight loss and to break a sweat.

How does WalkingPad R2 work?

It’s very easy to set up WalkingPad R2.  

Unpack the treadmill and lay it on the ground. Then, gently pull out the handle release knobs on the front sides and give them a little twist to loosen the handle. Unfold the handle and bring it to its upright position. 

Once it’s in place, just re-tighten the knobs and press them in to make sure everything stays secure and steady. 

You are ready to run! 

To control the speed, just use the remote or download the KS Fit app for control. You can also control the treadmill with a smart sensor that picks up the speed of your legs.

“Very easy to set up, lots of signage on the box to show you how to safely unpack it. Haven’t used the app yet since everything I need works via the remote. Wheels are tiny, but do the job. A wee bit bigger than advertised when folded— I was hoping to store it under my couch, but it won’t quite get under there without lifting it up. 

Easy enough to unfold, just make sure you re-center the belt before each use so it doesn’t fray. The handrail isn’t really that big of a deal to loosen for folding/unfolding, but I did notice the screws don’t quite tighten to make it completely devoid of movement. It’s certainly safe as a handrail and you shouldn’t be yanking on it hard enough to cause any sort of damage, but it’s obvious that it’s not a part of the base frame like you get with full-size treadmills.”
