Hello, and welcome to my Future app review.

Time is a precious commodity. It seems to be even more scarce when it’s time to exercise.

To be fair, it’s become increasingly difficult to pull ourselves away from our desks, go offline, and head out to pursue our health and wellness goals.

As a personal trainer with over 13 years of experience, I have witnessed firsthand what a struggle it is for clients to maintain a regular exercise routine.

Enter the Future app. The Future app is a virtual personal trainer that helps you get the workout you need anywhere, at any time.

But does the platform hold up to the hype? Is it worth the money, and will it provide the guidance you need to reach your unique goals?

In this article, I’m going to take you through the Future fit app.

Keep reading to learn all about the features, things to consider before buying, and all the pros and cons to help you decide whether this is the right platform for you.

Let’s jump in.

About Future App

The Future app is a virtual personal trainer that creates weekly workout plans and adjusts them to suit you.

Future offers a range of top certified coaches to choose from, each with their own field of expertise, so you can choose the coach that suits your training style and goals.

What is the Future app?

future fitness app

The Future app allows you to browse through a database of coaches, review their bios, and assess their specialties.

First, Future takes you through a questionnaire to understand your needs, personalize your goals, and recommend the correct coach for you. It does so based on age, gender, activity level, and previous experience with exercise.

From there, you can directly select your trainer on a fee per session ($100) or subscribe monthly ($149).

By subscribing monthly, you will get unlimited workouts that you can do anywhere.

Who is the Future app for?

The Future app caters to all fitness and experience levels.

Whether you are a busy mom of three, an athlete recovering from injury, or an impossibly busy entrepreneur, the Future app scales to your lifestyle.

It helps eliminate the excuses we might make to get out of sticking to a fitness plan by offering high-quality personal training you can enjoy anywhere.

Things To Consider Before Joining Future App

Choosing the right health and wellness app can be difficult; the market is saturated. To clear things up, here’s some info to help you decide whether the Future app is right for you.

Cost

First on the list is cost. Future offers a different service than your standard fitness app and with that comes a much bigger price tag.

Unlike other platforms that only offer videos and recommendations, the Future fitness app employs real coaches that tailor instruction to you.

This is the reason for the $149 per month price tag.

It might be higher-priced than the average fitness app, but it’s cheaper (and perhaps more convenient) than a personal training session in a gym or studio.

Availability

Availability is something that we all struggle with when it comes pursuing our health and fitness goals.

With the Future app, this is no different.

While the app can be used anywhere at any time, you should consider your current schedule and availability.

If you’re forking out $149/month for the service, you want to be sure you are willing to use it.

Fitness Goals

future fit app considerations

One of the Future apps’ biggest pros is its attention to detail when it comes to your personal fitness goals.

While many apps on the market niche down their service or skimp on the finer details, Future takes into consideration all types of goals.

This is done immediately when you sign up, where you can input your preferences and the platform will provide you with the best coaching matches from their database.

No matter what, you have a better shot at finding someone that understands your needs.

How does the Future app work?

So, now that we described what Future is about, let’s discuss how it works.

1. Download the App

The Future workout app is free to download from the App Store (Apple) and Play Store (Android).

2. Complete the Sign-Up Survey

Once you sign up you will be taken through a survey, where you will be asked a series of questions so that the app can match you with a coach.

Questions in the survey cover:

  • Gender
  • Age
  • Your relationship with fitness
  • Training goals
  • Previous training experience
  • Unique needs (recent pregnancy, prior injury, health conditions)
  • Nutrition
  • How many sessions per week

3. Get Started with a Coach

Once you have completed the survey, you will be shown your top recommended coach and a series of other matches.

Here, you can browse through their profiles which showcases their bios, specialties, certifications, and more.

4. Pay for Membership

Once you have decided on the right coach for you, you will be taken through to the payment interface. Here, you’ll be shown the breakdown of your monthly cost.

You’ll have to share the following information to complete this step:

  • Email
  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Credit card details

Future App Features

The Future fitness app offers a great service provided by real coaches.

Here’s what I’ve determined to be the best features to help you decide whether this is the right fit for you.

Real Certified Coaches

While many apps have coaches that program classes, Future employs real certified coaches to achieve your fitness goals.

You can speak directly to your coaches, as you would in a gym. They don’t just make programs available to you – they create programs just for you, take feedback, and make adjustments.

Exercise Videos

future app features

Exercise videos are one of the key features of the Future workout app. These videos come complete with technique cues, and time to help guide you through your workout.

This helps you get that personal coaching experience for the best results.

Personalized Programs

The Future app offers personalized programs that can change on the fly.

Because you are speaking with a real coach, they understand your goals, how your training is going, and how to keep you on track with your progress.

And while your coach is not speaking directly to you via video call during sessions, the app will provide you with the exercise videos to guide you through your workout.

Unlimited Workouts

Future offers unlimited workouts to all those who sign up to the monthly fee.

While this may be expected given the $149/month price tag, this is great value as online personal training could set you back $50/session.

The great thing about using Future is that you get the expertise of a professional fitness coach for unlimited sessions at a fraction of the price.

Syncs to Apple Watch

The Future app can sync directly with your Apple watch, which tracks your activity through the day.

Here, you will also be able to receive notifications, view progress, and use other related app functions.

Based On Your Equipment

The Future app bases all your workouts on what equipment is available to you for each session.

So, whether you are at a gym with free weights and machines or at home with just a mat, your coach will prescribe your workout based on what you have.

This reduces the chance of you bailing on your workout and helps you stick to your programming.

Schedule Considerations

One of the great things about having a personal trainer and coach is how they can adapt your training to your schedule, and Future does exactly that.

Because you are coached by a real person, you can give them your feedback about factors including schedules, injuries, and illness, and they will recommend changes to your workout.

This is exactly what your personal trainer or coach would do in a gym. It can go a long way to helping you recover or move sessions without straying from your training goals.

Casting to TV

future fitness app features

Casting to your TV is another great function of the Future workout app.

By casting your workouts to your TV, you can avoid the distractions and too-small screen that comes with your phone and fully immerse yourself in your workout.

Real Customer Future App Reviews

The Future app has an overall rating of 3.7/5, with 98 reviews.

This made up 84 positive reviews with a handful of mixed reviews.

Here’s a list of the positives from customer’s Future app reviews:

  • Smooth interface

  • Knowledgeable coaches
  • Tailored programs
  • Audio cues very helpful

Below is a list of feedback topics from negative reviews:

  • Certain coaches not taking injuries into consideration
  • Poor email support and customer service
  • Lack of nutritional guidance
  • Poor personalization
  • Limited exercises

Here are some real customer Future fit reviews:

Amazing Service

“Rob is outstanding. Great support and adjustments to push me at the right points. I was very experienced when I started, but he has me doing things I have never done before which has really increased the effectiveness and efficiency of my workouts.”

  • Tony

Good for accountability, but not personalized to you

The app is ok. It’s helpful for learning the basics of weight lifting and some accountability, but it is not really personalized to you. I’ve had a minor injury and it took weeks for my trainer to remember to exclude exercises that would make it worse (like running and jumping), the same with some other basic requests for things I could not do.

The exercises seem to be set workouts that are sent to many people who use the service. Be aware that the selection of exercises is pretty limited and doesn’t include weight machines (only barbell, dumbbell, and some resistance band exercises). Also, don’t expect much guidance for things like nutrition.

  • Jack

I’ve had a great experience with Xavier

I’ve had a great experience with Future! Definitely appreciate the fluidity of communication with the trainer and the format of the exercises. Also appreciate how my trainer, Xavier, challenges me with new workouts, different movements and I’ve definitely had overall progress toward my goals. Gives me something to look forward to each week!

One change that could be made is to let the user change their workout schedule, if they need to push a workout a day back. Mainly so we don’t have to hit up the trainer just for that! They got more important things to do I’m sure, but otherwise all great!

  • Teo

Hands down the best way to work out

Hands down the best way to work out! Each day my awesome coach Connor comes up with something new and challenging and he motivates me to stay excited about the daily routines. My husband and I absolutely love the whole program.
