Athletic Greens AG1 Unboxing Review
AG1 Review

Here’s an honest user review of Athletic Greens (AG1).

I co-authored this AG1 review with Ben who is a certified personal trainer and he really did try Athletic Greens for 30 days. You’ll read his opinions, experiences and most importantly the real results or maybe lack of them, but read on to find out.

It is often regarded as an all-in-one nutritional supplement to help many different people meet their nutritional needs.

But in this article, I’ll go over everything you need to know to make sure Athletic Greens is actually a high-quality supplement.

What makes me able to do that? Well, I’m a board-certified holistic health practitioner, and I also have a lot of experience researching supplement ingredients to determine their effectiveness.

And as you’ll see with AG1 Greens, there is a lot to go over.

But throughout this Athletic Greens review, you’ll be able to see me break down each crucial part, including the ingredients, possible benefits, safety, pricing, alternatives, and more.

By the end, you’ll be able to see whether or not Athletic Greens is worth it for you and one of the premium greens powders. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know.

Ben Really Tried Athletic Greens For 30 Days

Ben Dillion Drinking Athletic Greens

I tried Athletic Greens for 30 days and the results truly surprised me, with noticeable improvements to my gut health and energy levels.

Below are some of the noticeable changes after drinking AG1.

I Felt Less Bloating After Meals

Reduced bloating is one of the immediate benefits for drinking Athletic Greens.

The feeling of fullness post meal felt more like satiety, rather than heavy discomfort.

This carried over to days I would eat larger meals or cheat meals, where the sensation of high salt food didn’t linger.

Improved My Digestion

Ben Mixing AG1 Supplement

Improved digestion has been a massive plus when consuming Athletic Greens.

While digestion has never personally been an issue, drinking just one serve improved the feeling of satiety, and regularity.

After drinking AG1 for a few days, I could feel a noticeable difference post meal, having satisfied my hunger, but still feeling light.

Which took my mind away from my gut, reducing cravings, and hunger.

Stonger Immune System (Household Virus TEST)

During my month with AG1 I noted a difference in my immune system.

Over the course of the month we had a virus floating around our house (thanks childcare).

It was a particularly bad bout, with almost everyone in the house getting dealt a rough few weeks with sore throats, runny noses, and ghastly evening coughs.

I on the other hand fared very well, with just a light sniffle and scratchy throat.

While I could attribute this to a decent immune system, I know that the odd daycare bug can level even my best immunological defenses.

Meaning that AG1 really came through right on time.

I Felt A Noticeable Increase In Energy

Ben Preparing AG1

After just a week of drinking AG1 I began to notice a change in my energy levels.

These came on subtly, with longer sustained energy throughout the day rather than a massive boost like with a shot of coffee.

This was an excellent perk as it kind of took me by surprise.

The standard afternoon fatigue decreased significantly, providing me with an added boost to power through the entire day.

Combining this with improvements to digestion played a massive role for me personally as I tend to feel tired following a meal.

Having a clear gut, clear mind and improved energy proving to be a huge plus to my overall health and wellbeing.

Around Day 12-14 I Felt Less Stressed During My Day

Decreased stress level was also a noticeable change over the course of my month drinking AG1.

Similar to the increase in energy, this came on subtly.

Around the 12-14 day mark I had a few stressful encounters where I found myself at ease with the situation.

I had reduced feelings of stress and mental clarity that gave me that lightbulb moment where I knew AG1 stress relief benefits had kicked in.

Personally I attribute this to improvements in my gut and energy levels, which improved my overall mood.

About Athletic Greens

Athletic Greens was created in 2009 by Chris Ashenden, based out of New Zealand. Athletic Greens is now referred to as AG1, but it’s still the same supplement.

Ashenden’s goal in creating Athletic Greens was to formulate a comprehensive product that provides powerful nutrition for both athletes and non-athletes alike.

He faced his own health concerns as an athlete and worked together with researchers, naturopathic doctors, and health experts.

Together, they created a high-quality formula and what he calls the most “nutritionally complete” supplement in the world.

Today, AG1 is recognized and used by many athletes and health experts such as Mark Hyman and Andrew Huberman.

Safety and Quality

AG1 also strives to be top-notch in quality and safety. The product is made in Therapeutic Goods Administration-registered, GMP-certified facilities.

It is also NSF Certified for Sport, which is the gold standard for professional athletes.

NSF Certification is important because it ensures athletes that what they’re putting in their bodies is completely legal, as well as safe and of a high quality.

Athletic Greens is also designed with other concerns in mind. For example, it is non-GMO, free from herbicides and pesticides, and doesn’t contain any artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or sweeteners.

AG1 has some organic ingredients, but contains a few non-organic ingredients, too.

On top of that, AG1 supplements are gluten-free, dairy-free, lactose-free, and don’t contain any egg, corn, peanuts, or animal byproducts.

Lastly, Athletic Greens supplements are suitable for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone on paleo, keto, or low-carb diets.

What is Athletic Greens?

Now, let’s get into a little bit more about what the Athletic Greens supplement is all about.

Overall, Athletic Greens contains 75 ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, superfoods, probiotics, adaptogens, and more.

Over the past 10 years, AG1 Greens has gone through many modifications to continually evolve into a higher-quality product.

But the overall goal of Athletic Greens has always remained the same. It’s to provide elite, comprehensive nutrition not just for athletes, but for anyone needing extra nutritional support.

Athletic Greens combines all of its ingredients into a powder that can be conveniently mixed with water or other liquids for a quick, nutrition-packed drink.

The Athletic Greens drink is advertised to be a convenient option for busy people on the go and for anyone needing to get more nutrition into their diet.

This is especially true for people who find it hard to consume enough fruits and vegetables in their diet every day.

Lastly, every ingredient is said to be based on the latest science and research and used in the most effective and bioavailable form.

Things to Consider Before Buying Athletic Greens

Athletic Greens is potentially useful for many different people. However, there are some things to consider before buying Athletic Greens to see if it may be right for you.

Such things to consider are the formula intention, price, subscription options, buying availability, and ingredient quality.

Formula Intention

AG1 considerations

It’s important to know that Athletic Greens is not a meal replacement shake. It hardly has any calories, so it is not healthy to take it as a meal.

Rather, AG1 Greens is designed to be used as a nutrient support supplement, often taken on an empty stomach before meals.

Price

Athletic Greens is also very expensive. The regular price of Athletic Greens costs well over $3 per serving. Although, there are ways to save money by subscribing to the product and buying in bulk.

Subscription Options

You can purchase a single or double subscription to Athletic Greens, which means that you can get either 30 or 60 servings of Athletic Greens delivered monthly, respectively.

As you’ll see later, the double subscription is the best deal and is likely best for two or more people to go in on.

Buying Availability

You can’t buy Athletic Greens in stores. It is only available on the Athletic Greens website and Amazon.

Ingredient Quality

A lot of the ingredients in Athletic Greens are organic, but some aren’t classified as organic.

Regardless, every ingredient goes through strict testing for quality and safety, you can be confident that Athletic Greens has a high-quality formulation.

And it is also free from many common allergens and artificial ingredients (see above info in the Brand Overview section for more details).

Athletic Greens Features

There are a lot of working parts with Athletic Greens. AG1 supplements seem to have many different features and possible health benefits.

Take a look below to see the main features of Athletic Greens and how these may benefit you.

Vitamins & Minerals

If you don’t get enough vitamins and minerals (which are critical micronutrients), you are more likely to face health problems, both physically and mentally. Micronutrient deficiencies are more common in low-income countries.

But even in developed areas, people can have micronutrient inadequacies, mainly by eating an energy-rich, low-nutrient diet (and this is more common than you may think).

The Athletic Greens formula has many different vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients which they claim will help you reach your nutritional targets and optimize your health.

This may lead to other benefits, such as enhanced immunity and improved brain function.

Prebiotics & Probiotics

Many people complain of poor gut health today. And you may struggle with bloating, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, or other symptoms.

Not only are these uncomfortable, but they can also be downright embarrassing at times.

But Athletic Greens includes prebiotics and probiotics, which they say will help to optimize gut function. Additionally, they say that these ingredients will improve your immune function, increase nutrient absorption, and regulate your digestive health.

Phytonutrient Support

Athletic Greens Supplements features

You may know that fruits and vegetables have a lot of vitamins and minerals. But they also contain what are known as “phytonutrients”, which are plant compounds that benefit human health.

And without consuming enough phytonutrients, such as antioxidants, you may have an increased risk of chronic disease. Plus, you likely just won’t feel as well or healthy.

That’s why Athletic Greens claims to include many different phytonutrients from superfoods. It claims that these will support numerous bodily systems and help build the foundation of overall health.

Additional Digestive Support

It’s not only about what you eat, it’s about how well you can absorb and use what you eat.

Without proper digestion, you not only get annoying symptoms, but you’re also more likely to have a suboptimal nutrient intake.

In addition to prebiotics and probiotics, AG1 Greens contains digestive enzymes and superfoods, which they say will optimize your gut and help you digest all of the food you eat.

In turn, this is supposed to lead to better nutrient absorption and overall better health.

Immune Support

There’s not much worse than being sick in bed for days on end. You miss out on your job, sports, time with family and friends, and other important things in life.

And even if you don’t get severely ill, just having low-level sickness or feeling unwell too often can limit your overall life satisfaction, energy, and productivity.

That’s why Athletic Greens contains ingredients it claims will optimize immune function.

In addition to immune-supportive vitamins and minerals, Athletic Greens has various medicinal mushrooms, antioxidants, and other ingredients to support overall immune health.

This may increase your defenses against illness and infections.

Metabolism, Energy, & Stress Support

Lack of energy, excessive stress, and unwanted weight gain are all very common problems for people today.

Maybe this is true for you, even if you try to do the right things, such as diet and exercise. Constantly looking and feeling worse than you want to holds you back from reaching all of your goals.

But Athletic Greens claims to attack these three problems from multiple angles. The formula includes potent plant extracts, adaptogenic herbs, and antioxidants.

The claim is that they will increase your metabolism, boost your energy, and improve your ability to manage stress.

This could lead to a fitter, happier, and healthier you.

Athletic and Sport Performance

AG1 Greens features

If you’re an athlete or regular exerciser, you may know the feelings of soreness, fatigue, or pain all too well.

Exercise can take a toll on the body, especially if you engage in intense exercise frequently.

Athletic Greens is designed to support the recovery and performance of athletes and gym-goers. Athletic Greens supplements have superfoods, adaptogens, and antioxidants, which they say all work together to reduce inflammation and soreness, improve recovery, and maximize performance.

Does Athletic Greens really work?

Alright, I’ll get right to the question you’re probably wondering about.

That’s whether or not Athletic Greens really works.

Based on what I’ve seen, it is likely that Athletic Greens provides comprehensive nutritional support. It should likely offer support for many aspects of health and wellness.

Now, everyone will get different results when using AG1. It depends on some factors, such as your current health status, diet, exercise, recovery, and even genetics, among other things.

But overall, Athletic Greens contains plenty of well-researched ingredients, most of which are dosed at effective levels.

And even though it has proprietary blends, they list out the total dose of the blend, which is usually pretty high.

AG1 Nutrition Label

AG1 Greens has over 75 ingredients, so there is clearly a lot going on in this product.

Athletic Greens Ingredients

In this part of this Athletic Greens review, I’m going to go over all of the ingredients and discuss possible health effects.

I won’t go over every ingredient one by one except for the vitamins and minerals.

For the others, you’ll see that the ingredients are grouped into complexes and blends, and I’ll go over some of the key points for each ingredient in those blends.

Vitamin A (555 mcg RAE)

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin involved in many things. It is important for reproductive health, cellular function, immunity, and eye health, among other things.

A lack of vitamin A may increase the risk of problems related to those areas.

Effective dose according to Examine: N/A (only lists a topical dosage). 555mcg provides 62% of the DRV.

Vitamin C (420mg)

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin most known for its antioxidant effects. It is also important for immune function, wound healing, and brain health.

It may also help to ward off infections and reduce allergy symptoms.

Effective dosage based on research: At least 75 to 90mg

Vitamin B1 (3mg)

Vitamin B1, more commonly known as thiamin, is a B-complex vitamin involved in energy metabolism (converting food into energy) and brain health.

It is particularly important for blood sugar regulation.

Effective dosage based on data: 100 to 300 mg

Vitamin B2 (2mg)

Vitamin B2, most often referred to as riboflavin, is a B vitamin involved in energy metabolism, growth, and antioxidant effects.

Most people aren’t deficient as they often get enough from meat, eggs, and dairy. But those who are may have skin problems or fatigue.

Effective dosage based on research: 1 to 4 mg

Vitamin B3 (20mg NE)

Vitamin B3, or niacin, is another key B-complex vitamin. Like the others, it is necessary for converting food into energy.

Also, it may be able to support healthy cholesterol and fat levels while benefiting brain function.

Effective dosage: Typically at least 1g

Vitamin B5 (4mg)

Vitamin B5, which is also called pantothenic acid, is a B vitamin most important for energy production, as well as neurotransmitter (brain chemicals) function.

Supplementation is typically unnecessary for those with a healthy diet, especially consisting of chicken, avocado, nuts, seeds, fortified cereals, and dairy.

Vitamin B6 (3mg)

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is one of the more well-known B vitamins. It is important for metabolism and nervous system function.

However, most people don’t need extra vitamin B6 in their diet to adequate consumption of animal foods and fortified products, such as cereal.

Vitamin B7 (330 mcg)

Vitamin B7, almost always referred to as biotin, is involved in metabolism.

It’s also a component of hair and nails, although there isn’t a lot of research to support biotin supplementation for improving hair and nail strength.

Biotin is also involved in blood sugar regulation and may have benefits for diabetes.

Effective dosage according to data: At least 25 to 100mcg

Vitamin B9 (680 mcg DFE)

Vitamin B9, which is almost always called folate or folic acid, is important for red blood cell health and nervous system function.

A lack of folate may impair energy and increase the risk of pregnancy complications.

Effective dosage: 200 to 240 mcg

Vitamin B12 (22mcg)

Athletic Greens Ingredients

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is the most important B-complex vitamin regarding brain and nervous system health.

It may have benefits for fatigue and cognitive function, but more evidence is needed.

Effective dosage according to research: At least 2.4mcg, up to 1,000mcg in short-term cases

Vitamin K2

Vitamin K2 (used in the form of menaquinone-7 [MK-7]) is a specific form of vitamin K, which is a fat-soluble vitamin.

Vitamin K plays key roles in bone and heart health. It may also help in controlling blood sugar.

Vitamin K2 supplementation may have benefits for arthritis and diabetes.

Effective dosage based on data: 90 to 360 mg

Calcium (118mg)

Calcium is an essential mineral that you likely know about for its role in bone health, but it has a role in heart function, too.

Supplementation doesn’t provide any benefits if you already get adequate calcium in the diet, such as from dairy products, canned fish with bones, and leafy greens.

Effective dosage: Whatever is necessary to get to the RDA of 1,000 to 1,200mg

Phosphorus (130mg)

Phosphorus is an abundant mineral and important for energy as well as bone, brain, and heart health.

However, many people get enough in their diet. Phosphorus is found in a wide variety of foods, such as meat, dairy, eggs, nuts, whole grains, and more.

So, supplementation is typically unnecessary.

Magnesium (26mg)

Magnesium is an essential mineral important for brain, heart, muscle, and metabolic health, among other things.

Yet, a deficiency in the modern world is quite common. Getting enough magnesium seems to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, stroke, migraines, and other health problems.

Effective dosage: 250 to 450mg

Zinc (15mg)

Athletic Greens drink ingredients

Zinc is a trace mineral involved in immune function, hormonal health, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Most people get enough zinc in developed countries, particularly from red meat, shellfish, grains, and nuts.

Supplementation may have benefits for fighting infections, immunity, testosterone, and other concerns.

Effective dosage according to research: 5 to 10mg (as a preventative) or 25 to 45mg (to correct a deficiency)

Selenium (20mcg)

Selenium is a trace mineral most known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Getting enough selenium is also necessary for metabolism and hormonal function, among other things.

Effective dosage: 200 to 300 mcg

Copper (195 mcg)

Copper is a mineral important for immune function as it has antioxidant effects.

Most people get enough copper due to adequate consumption of meat, fish, nuts, and seeds.

Manganese (400mcg)

Manganese is a mineral that appears most important for producing antioxidant enzymes.

It also plays a role in metabolism. But most people get enough manganese, particularly from whole grains, shellfish, and leafy greens.

Chromium (25 mcg)

Chromium is a trace mineral that is involved in metabolism. And it also helps to regulate blood sugar levels.

It may have benefits for people with diabetes, but it’s not very consistent.

Effective dosage: 1,000mcg

Sodium (45mg)

Sodium is a mineral needed for proper nerve and muscle function, as well as to maintain fluid balance.

Most people don’t need to supplement, although sodium and electrolyte-based drinks may be useful for athletes in high-intensity exercise of long duration, especially in hot climates.

Potassium (300mg)

Potassium is a mineral that is often seen as sodium’s “counterpart” since they work together to maintain fluid balance and blood pressure.

A high potassium-to-sodium ratio also seems beneficial for heart health.

Effective dosage: 500 to 1,000mg

Alkaline, Nutrient-Dense Raw Superfood Complex (7,388mg)

Athletic Greens nutrition

Now, I’m getting into the unique aspects of AG1, starting with their Alkaline, Nutrient-Dense Raw Superfood Complex.

This complex consists of an abundance of fruits, vegetables, herbs, cereal grasses, algae, and other “superfood” compounds.

Ingredients in this complex include:

  • Spinach
  • Apple
  • Spirulina
  • Wheatgrass
  • Alfalfa
  • Chlorella
  • Barley
  • Lecithin
  • Acerola
  • Broccoli
  • Papaya
  • Pineapple
  • Beetroot
  • Bilberry
  • Rosehip
  • Carrot
  • Cocoa bean
  • Grape seed
  • Green tea
  • Licorice root
  • Lycium berry
  • Ginger root
  • Slippery elm bark
  • Kelp

All of these superfoods provide many different phytonutrients, which are plant chemicals that have many beneficial effects on the body.

The many different compounds in these foods include polyphenols, carotenoids, tannins, flavonoids, anthocyanins, phenolic acids, and much more.

These compounds provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

They also seem to be beneficial for metabolism, energy, immunity, stress, joint and bone health, cognitive function, vitality, liver detoxification, physical performance, digestion, and more.

Fruits and Vegetables

Among the fruits and vegetables, dark leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, citrus, and dark-colored berries seem to have the most benefits for health promotion and disease prevention.

AG1 does have a lot of these, such as spinach, broccoli, and acerola.

Algae

The specific sources of algae (spirulina, chlorella, and kelp) have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, not to mention benefits for metabolism, heart health, and immune function.

Cereal Grasses

Wheatgrass and alfalfa are cereal grasses that have specific benefits too, such as for gut health, immune function, and detoxification.

Others

Lastly, other compounds here just provide a diverse array of nutrients and antioxidants, such as those in green tea, cocoa, and grape seed.

Nutrient Dense Extracts, Herbs, and Antioxidants (2,732mg)

The next blend is called Nutrient Dense Extracts, Herbs, and Antioxidants.

It is featured by:

  • Pea protein
  • Citrus bioflavonoids
  • Artichoke leaf,
  • Citric acid
  • Rhodiola
  • Eleuthero
  • Rosemary
  • Milk thistle
  • Alpha lipoic acid (ALA)
  • Ashwagandha
  • Dandelion
  • Hawthorn berry
  • Beta-glucans
  • Policosanol
  • Coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ10)
  • Stevia
  • Vitamin K2

Essentially, this blend consists of adaptogenic herbs, antioxidant compounds, and other beneficial nutrients.

Adaptogens

AG1 ingredients

Ashwagandha, eleuthero, and Rhodiola are all considered adaptogenic herbs. Adaptogens may help maintain balance in the body when dealing with stress.

And there is evidence that these adaptogens can help improve endurance, fight fatigue, and improve immunity, among other things.

Antioxidants

There are also many antioxidants in here, including ALA, CoQ10, citrus bioflavonoids, and citric acid.

While these have their own unique effects, they are all very similar in that they help decrease inflammation and oxidative stress in the body.

Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects may improve many aspects of overall health and reduce the risk of disease.

Other Herbs

There are other herbs in this blend too, which include artichoke leaf, milk thistle, dandelion, and hawthorn berry.

While these herbs have some unique benefits, they all may offer antioxidant effects and help with various factors of health, such as metabolism, heart health, and detoxification.

Others

And then there is beta-glucan, which is a type of fiber that seems to promote digestive health, metabolic health, and immune function.

Pea protein isolate is also a bioavailable protein, but there’s not much of it in here.

Digestive Enzymes and Super Mushroom Complex (154mg)

The Digestive Enzymes and Super Mushroom Complex consists of:

  • Astragalus
  • Burdock
  • Bromelain
  • Reishi
  • Shiitake

Digestion

Astragalus, burdock, and bromelain are all included here for digestive purposes.

Astragalus and burdock contain fibers that may stimulate the growth of good bacteria in the gut, which could help digestion.

Bromelain is a natural digestive enzyme that helps to specifically digest protein.

Mushrooms

The two mushrooms in this complex are shiitake and reishi.

These mushrooms have many beneficial compounds that may increase immune function, improve digestion, and aid digestion, among other benefits.

Dairy-Free Probiotics 7.2 Billion CFU (38mg)

Well, we’ve finally reached the last part of the Athletic Greens ingredients, which is the probiotic blend that contains Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum.

These are two probiotic (“good bacteria”) strains that have been shown to improve digestion, gut barrier function, and other related areas.

Essentially, your gut needs a certain amount of good bacteria to function, so supplementing probiotics can increase the number of healthy bacteria in the gut.

Ben’s Athletic Greens Taste Test

Athletic Greens has a subtle fruity, earthy and green sweetness to it, that makes it easy to drink as it is not overpowering.

I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the flavor as supplements can be very hit and miss.

AG1 has a variety of ingredients, which feels perfectly blended as your taste buds pick up all the different green, fruity, sweet and even oaty flavours.

The powder itself is very fine, which gives you a little texture, but blends very well when shaken up with the AG1 shaker.

This all comes together to give you an enjoyable shake that I personally looked forward to drinking as a part of my morning routine.

How to Use Athletic Greens

Athletic Greens can be taken any time of the day. Just mix it in with water, although you may want to put a splash of natural fruit juice in to add more flavor.

Ideally, it should be taken 10 minutes before a meal. The company says that, if you’re able, taking it first thing in the morning is likely the best way to get into a habit of using it.

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage is one scoop, mixed in with eight to 10 ounces of cold water.

My Personal Athletic Green Review

From shipping, packing, the shaker and the supplement, Athletic Greens feels like a premium product.

The shaker is great quality, with the lid holding little extra weight which makes it great for blending up your Athletic Greens on the go.

One of things I loved about drinking AG1 was how fine the powder was. Which meant I could get a perfect blend every time without having to go overboard with shaking.

And it tastes great, with a natural sweetness, which makes it an enjoyable drink.

This took me by surprise as I am not normally a fan of the flavor of supplements, as even the nicest tasting tend to go stale only after a few tries.

Over my time drinking AG1 I never got tired of drinking it, even looking forward to having it in the mid morning before or between meals.

The benefits of AG1 began to reveal themselves within just a few days, with improvements to digestion and energy levels.

Over the course of the first week my gut felt lighter, with that post meal fullness not lasting nearly as long.

I also noticed far less bloating after heavy or larger meals, which has been a great bonus as I do eat a wide variety of foods.

These benefits came on within a matter of days for me, which truly took me by surprise.

I figured this would be at least 2-3 weeks before my gut health began to regulate, but it seems almost instant.

The result of this flowed onto improvements in my energy levels, with greater energy throughout the day, which also stopped my dreaded 3pm crashes.

This combined with improved gut function really helped to reduce stress and irritability when tired, allowing me to focus on improving concentration throughout the day.

If I had to give one criticism about it is that it is on the expensive side, which may not fit into everyone’s budget.

For me personally, I am a supplement person and I enjoy trying and using different kinds to get the best out of my body.

Having AG1 has been awesome for so many different aspects of my health that I will definitely continue to use this ongoing.

Which also means I will even be able to stop using many others that I am taking.

The fact that I can just have one shake and not a handful of other tablets and powders makes it an absolute no brainer for long term purchase and use.

I really enjoyed my initial 30 days drinking AG1. Its benefits took me by complete surprise, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to give their gut and energy levels a boost.

Is AG1 worth it?

Yes, I believe AG1 is worth it! I have used many different supplements and vitamins over the years, with varying degrees of effectiveness, and which all add up in cost.

While Athletic Greens comes in at $3 per serve, it does cover a variety of different bases.

And with major benefits such as improved digestion, energy levels and immune system make it well worth the money.

Listed below are some specific Athletic Greens reviews from real customers:

“I have been using AG1 for two months now. Before I started I felt really tired and sluggish with no energy. I think it is helping me get better nutrients which are helping me obtain more energy and just an overwhelming feeling of better. I even started my Yoga practice again because I have the energy to do it. Try it for yourself so that you can also feel better.” -Sharon K.

“Love this stuff, tastes great, gives me energy in the morning, and gets me all my vitamins for the day, but it is way too expensive to be worth paying for every month.” -Evan S.

“I feel more energized and have better digestion when taking this daily. It’s a little gritty but the flavor is pretty good.” -Anh S.

“Honestly I was skeptical, the price wasn’t fantastic and I heard mixed reviews from various sources but I decided to give it a shot, and was honestly surprised as to how instantly it worked and worked well. If you struggle to get your daily vitamins and nutrients then this is a perfect solution.” -Connor B.

“I can tell the difference in my energy level plus I sleep better without sleep aids. I don’t eat many veggies so this helps me not feel guilty about that.” -Vicki D.

“I’ve really noticed a change in bloating, my hair is softer and nails are stronger. I have not noticed much change in energy, however. The taste is something you can get used to but some of the powder particles do not dissolve and you always get that powdery aftertaste.” -Kerri W.

  • Supports Immunity
  • Boost Energy Production
  • Supports Recovery from Exercise
  • Supports Liver Function
  • Supports Hormone Function

Promotes Gut Health and Digestion

Athletic Greens benefits

One of the possible benefits of Athletic Greens is improved gut health and digestion. Athletic Greens has many plant-based ingredients, and these superfoods are often supportive of gut health.

Plus, Athletic Greens has various digestive enzymes, prebiotics, and probiotics that support many different aspects of gut function and digestion.

In turn, you may experience fewer digestive symptoms, such as gas, bloating, and diarrhea.

Supports Immunity

Athletic Greens may also support immunity and overall health and wellness. It includes many different vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other compounds that likely give the body what it needs to function at an optimal level.

This may mean fewer sick days and an overall feeling of wellness on a daily basis.

Boosts Energy Production

You may also get a boost in energy with Athletic Greens. This is likely due to the various vitamins and minerals in here that support energy production, such as the B-complex vitamins.

Plus, AG1 has a few other ingredients that may increase energy, such as adaptogenic herbs (e.g. Rhodiola).

While this boost likely won’t be dramatic, you may notice a little increase in energy and productivity.

Supports Recovery from Exercise

Athletic Greens may also support exercise recovery, in large part due to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds in it.

Exercise can create inflammation in the body, but the compounds in Athletic Greens may reduce this inflammation and help you to recover quicker, while also decreasing soreness and pain.

Supports Liver Function and Detoxification

The liver is often regarded as the seat of detoxification in the body. Athletic Greens contains herbal compounds that may boost liver function and detoxification. These include milk thistle, chlorella, wheat grass, and many others.

This may translate into higher feelings of well-being and vitality daily, along with less sluggishness.

Supports Hormone Function and Stress Management

AG1 Greens benefits

Athletic Greens could also support hormone function, mainly due to specific micronutrients. Zinc, boron, and other vitamins and minerals play key roles in hormonal health.

Plus, ashwagandha, eleuthero,  and other adaptogenic herbs may help reduce stress hormones and keep your body in balance.

Metabolism Support

Lastly, you could possibly get a boost in metabolism with Athletic Greens. This is due to the wide array of plant compounds that are generally supportive of metabolic health, including various berries, leafy greens, herbs, and others.

Plus, certain micronutrients in AG1 may help with metabolism, such as chromium and B vitamins.

Final Verdict

That’s the end of this Athletic Greens review.

If you’re looking for a superfood supplement, Athletic Greens is a pretty solid choice.

Perhaps you’re struggling with low energy, digestive issues, poor recovery, or just simply a feeling of low vitality and wellness.

Athletic Greens does have a huge list of well-researched, healthy ingredients to support optimal health and wellness.

The only problem is that it contains proprietary blends.

With this in mind, it is best to at least consider Supergreen Tonik as an alternative to Athletic Greens.

Supergreen Tonik has fewer ingredients, but it offers the same general nutrients. More importantly, they list the dosages for each ingredient.

I’m not here to say that Athletic Greens won’t work; it could be very beneficial, in fact. But just keep an open mind and consider what is most important to you when choosing a superfood/greens supplement
